Come and discover the Musée Mémorial du linge, about the fighting in the First World War in the Vosges.Located on the historic site of the Battle of the Linge, the museum details the living and fighting conditions of the soldiers and all the associated logistics. A video projection explains the fighting.Outside on the battlefield, visitors can see the well-preserved German defensive position with trenches, dugouts and blockhouses, opposite the remains of French positions built of light materials.The proximity of the lines and their respective positions give an idea of the insurmountable difficulties faced by the attackers in 1915, and explain the heavy toll taken by 3 months of fighting, with 17,000 recorded casualties.
